I was reading through some of our older posts and noticed that I reference many different lasers that we use and was thinking that it might be confusing to you as the reader to know which one does what?
So Here is a little Laser 101:
Acne: We started with the Aesthra PPX and upgraded to the Isolaz in 2007 which is the only laser FDA approved for the treatment of acne. We have now upgraded again to the Isolaz Profusion! The treatment works great and for some people even better results can be achieved from a microdermabrasion to prep the skin prior to the laser acne treatment. See our upcoming 2010 clip on News 9.
Laser Hair Removal: We started with the FDA approved Aesthra PPX which is similar to IPL and upgraded in 2008 to the New pain-free Soprano XL which is a diode laser. (Gold standard in laser hair removal) The Soprano, as seen on “The Doctors” is fast, easy, and mostly pain-free. No numbing cream required.
Photo Rejuvenation:
Isolaz: We use the Isolaz for photo-facials to treat mild sun damage, fine lines and even out skin tone.
Fraxel: We use the Fraxel to treat mild to heavy sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, melasma, acne scars, stretch marks. The Fraxel is the best laser out there for laser rejuvenation and has minimal down time.
SlimLipo/ Laser Lipolysis:
Laser Lipo as many people call it is used to safely and effectively melt and remove unwanted body fat with minimal downtime or trauma to the body. There are different versions out there under different names but the one Dr. Schoenfeld uses is the newest version and is better than traditional laser liposuction because it not only melts the fat with a thin laser that allows Dr. Schoenfeld to sculpt the area, but it also removes the melted fat.
