SlimLipo FAQsQ-What is SlimLipo?
A-SlimLipo is a laser-assisted fat removal method which combines liposuction and laser techniques to safely and effectively melt and remove unwanted fat from areas of the face and body while also helping to tighten the surrounding skin.
Q-What areas of the body can be treated with SlimLipo?
A-SlimLipo can be used to treat many areas of the face and body. Commonly treated areas include the neck, arms, love handles, stomach and knees.
Q-How does SlimLipo compare to other laser or liposuction techniques?
A-There are many advantages of SlimLipo compared to other laser techniques like Smart Lipo, as well as other traditional liposuction techniques. SlimLipo uses two different wavelengths of light along with continuous wave technology for greater precision with less downtime and less risk of skin injury. The laser also produces a skin tightening effect that cannot be achieved with traditional liposuction techniques. Unlike other laser lipo procedures SlimLipo can be performed with tumescent anesthesia which facilitates fat removal and decreases bruising.
Q-Is SlimLipo safe?
A-SlimLipo is a very safe, minimally invasive procedure. Risks or complications are generally rare or minor and may include infection, bleeding, swelling, bruising and discomfort.
Q-Who is the best candidate for SlimLipo?
A-SlimLipo is an appropriate treatment for many different types of individuals. While the procedure can be used to remove larger volumes of fat, it is also ideal for the treatment of smaller areas, areas with little or no fat, and contour deformities. Because there is little downtime, it is particularly appealing to those with busy lifestyles who cannot afford the longer recoveries associated with other procedures. SlimLipo can also be used to improve skin laxity and contour deformities on patients who have previously undergone liposuction.
Q-Where is the SlimLipo procedure performed?
A-SlimLipo is typically performed on an outpatient basis in the office setting, in an outpatient facility or in the hospital.
Q-How long does the SlimLipo procedure take to perform?
A-Procedural times will vary, but the SlimLipo treatment typically takes between one and three hours to complete.
Q-What type of anesthesia is used during the SlimLipo procedure?
A-SlimLipo is often performed with either local or tumescent anesthesia. Sedation may be provided if necessary.
Q-How is the SlimLipo treatment performed?
A-During the SlimLipo treatment, the laser device is inserted through very small incisions and the laser then liquefies the fat for removal. The laser also helps to tighten the skin in the treatment area.
Q-Are there scars after undergoing SlimLipo?
A-For the SlimLipo procedure, very small incisions are made in the treatment area which do not result in visible scarring.
Q-What is the recovery like after the SlimLipo procedure?
A-The recovery after SlimLipo treatment is generally mild and brief compared to other traditional liposuction methods. Patients may experience some minor bruising and swelling, and the swelling should fade within about one week. During this time, a compression garment will need to be worn.
Q-Will I need to take off from work after my SlimLipo treatment?
A-Most patients find that they can return to work and other normal activities within about two days after their SlimLipo treatment. However, patients will need to postpone more strenuous activities for several weeks.
Q-How soon after SlimLipo treatment will I be able to see results?
A-Results can be seen within about one week after the SlimLipo treatment once the swelling has subsided. Improvement will become more noticeable within several weeks.
Q-Is the SlimLipo procedure painful?
A-There is typically little discomfort associated with the SlimLipo procedure.
Q-Are the results of SlimLipo permanent?
A-The results of SlimLipo can be permanent if patients follow a sensible exercise and diet regime.
