SlimLipo is a body sculpting procedure which combines liposuction techniques with laser treatment to effectively and safely melt and remove unwanted body fat and help tighten skin with minimal downtime. During the procedure, the laser is used to selectively target unwanted body fat cells, thereby liquefying and removing the fat while also tightening and smoothing the surrounding skin.

SlimLipo can be performed on many areas of the body and face including the neck, arms, love handles, stomach, knees and other areas. SlimLipo offers many benefits over traditional liposuction methods and other laser lipo procedures like Smart Lipo. Unlike many other laser procedures, SlimLipo involves the use of two different wavelengths of laser light. This allows the laser to more specifically target and remove fat, thus allowing for more fat removal and quicker recovery times. The SlimLipo procedure also utilizes continuous wave technology which reduces the risk of skin burns. Further, treatment can be performed with tumescent anesthesia for easier fat removal and less bruising. Unlike traditional liposuction techniques, the laser produces a skin tightening effect for smoother, tighter skin with a reduced risk of skin irregularities, sagging skin and contour deformities. 

SlimLipo is an outpatient procedure which can be performed in the office setting, in an outpatient facility or in the hospital. Procedure times will vary but they tend to average one to three hours. Either local or tumescent anesthesia may be used with or without sedation. During the procedure, the laser device is inserted through incisions made in the treatment area. Because the incisions are very small, they will leave no visible scarring. The laser then liquefies and removes the fat cells while also producing a skin tightening effect for improved contour.

Recovery from Liposuction

There is minimal downtime associated with the SlimLipo procedure. There is generally less bruising and swelling than with other liposuction methods and discomfort is minimal. Improvement can be seen once the swelling has subsided, which usually takes about one week. More noticeable improvement will be seen after several weeks. Most patients are able to return to work within two days, though more strenuous activities will need to be avoided for several weeks. A compression garment will need to be worn during the first week after your procedure.
