Are Dysport and Juvederm used for the same problems that Botox is used for, the wrinkles in the forehead? How do they compare to Botox in price? What about the duration of the effects?
Dysport is used for the same purpose in the forehead as Botox is currently used. They both are both botulinum products and therefore, they both prevent wrinkles by decreasing the activity of the muscles of the forehead. Juvederm is a dermal filler made of hyaluronic acid and this product is used to fill in the wrinkles but, Juvederm and all other dermal fillers cannot prevent muscles contraction or further wrinkles from forming. Dysport tends to be priced slightly less than Botox. A typical treatment of Botox to prevent the vertical lines in between your eyes will generall run about $300-350 where Dysport is usually priced slightly less. The duration of effects of both products is about 4 months. the only differences that I have seen with each of these products is the onset of action. Botox takes between 4 and 5 days for onset of action and the effects of Dysport can be seen in about 3 days. Both products are extremely safe and provide a high level of patient satisfaction.
