I read recently that Botox can be used to treat excessive sweating. How effective is it as a treatment, and does your office offer these services?
Botox can be used to treat excessive sweating. The condition is called hyperhidrosis and is a genetic condition that is quite socially disruptive. Botox is injected into the areas of your body where excessive sweating is most problematic, such as your underarms or the palms of your hands. Botox and dysport prevent the sweat glands from producing sweat in the same manner that these products prevent muscle contraction in the face. The procedure is very effective but needs to be repeated about every 5 months.
