Do you perform tumescent liposuction? I would like to undergo liposuction but do not want a procedure where general anesthesia is required.
The advantages of Slim Lipo over traditional liposuction is the degree of discomfort following the surgery and the recovery period associated with the procedure. Slim Lipo uses laser energy to melt fat and laser energy to tighten the skin from where the fat has been removed. Gentle suctioning of the melted fat is performed after the laser is applied to the area and the appropriate amount of fat is melted. Traditional liposuction uses special cannulas or tubes to avulse fat from the body. There is considerably more trauma the body sustains with traditional liposuction compared to laser lipolysis. The recovery period for traditional liposuction and the post procedure discomfort is considerably more with traditional liposuction than with laser liposuction. The amount of fat that can be removed is the same with both procedures but, the Slim Lipo technology utilizes two different laser wavelengths to perform the procedure. One wavelength is to melt the fat, and the second wavelength, which is applied at the same time as the fat melting wavelength, is used to tighten the loose skin in the areas the fat was removed. I consider this a significant advantage over traditional liposuction techniques. The abdomen and flanks are ideal locations for Slim Lipo if you are a liposuction candidate. Neither of these procedures is a substitute for a tummy tuck if you have a considerable amount of loose skin in this area.
