I’m going to be getting laser liposuction soon and I was wondering if there are any issues regarding flying on an airplane after undergoing liposuction. How soon afterward is this safe?
Your question is a very good one. There is definitely an increased risk of deep venous thrombosis following liposuction and a significantly less but still present risk with laser liposuction. There is also the risk of deep venous thrombosis following long flights because of the sedentary nature of flying. I feel that waiting a week after your laser liposuction procedure would be a prudent approach prior to air flight. I feel that after a week following laser liposuction you will be able to sit comfortably for prolonged periods of time without causing unwanted changes to the areas treated with laser liposuction and there would be a minimal risk of deep venous thrombosis.
