Question:
I would like Botox treatments. I have very pronounced frown lines and crow’s feet. How many injections would I get for these areas? Do you first apply a topical anesthetic?
Answer:
Botox or Dysport treatment to improve the appearance of frown lines and crows feet is a fairly straight forward procedure. I will generally place approximately six to eight injections in the forehead for frown lines, and between 4 and 6 injections to address crow’s feet. The needle that I inject with is extremely small. Most of my patients to not require and do not request any numbing prior to injections. If you would like topical anesthesia, although I do use Emla cream and BLT solution, I have found that the application of ice packs to the skin just prior to injections is far superior to any of the other topical anesthetic agents.
