The other day I was getting my hair done at the salon when I saw an ad for Botox injections. I thought that only a certified medical provider could do them; what’s the deal?
Believe me when I tell you that Botox and Dysport injections performed by non licensed medical professionals is as perplexing to me as it is to you. Unfortunately, policing the administration of Botox and Dysport administration is difficult to do. Patients will often look for the cheapest deals on injectables and not consider the skill of the injector, the medical licensing of the injector, and most importantly, the source of the Botox and Dysport. My suggestion is to seek a licensed medical professional preferably a cosmetic surgeon or dermatologist with real training in the use of Botox and Dysport, or a physicians assistant or nurse who works directly under the guidance of such a medical professional.
