What is the difference between a necklift and neck liposuction and when is one better than the other?
There is considerable differences between a neck lift and neck liposuction. Neck liposuction is performed in a neck when ever there is excess fat in the neck. Neck liposuction is a relatively short procedure with small incisions made underneath the chin and behind the ears to enable access of the liposuction cannulas. Neck liposuction can be performed under mild sedation or local anesthesia alone. It is often combined with a neck lift procedure. A neck lift is a surgical procedure that is used to tighten excess skin and muscle of the neck. The incisions are considerably larger than a neck liposuction incision, but, well camouflaged. Sagging skin is removed with incisions in the hairline behind the ears, and the neck muscle is tightened with an incision underneath the chin. The procedure takes about 1 1/2 hours compared to neck liposuction which takes about half of that time.
