How is rhinoplasty different in men than in women?
Answer:
The actual rhinoplasty procedure is really no different in men and women, however, the esthetic goal that I try to achieve in men is slightly different than in women. In men, I like to leave a strong and full nasal bridge and do not try to over define the nasal tip. In women, I try to achieve a "feminine tip" by providing more definition and curvature to the tip, not flipping it up. I will also leave the bridge a little softer without a ski slope appearance but, a subtle curve until the nasal tip. The skin of men and women also tend to differ in thickness so, in rhinoplasty, this has to be taken into consideration.
