I have had my hoop earrings pulled out of my ears

Question:
I have had my hoop earrings pulled out of my ears on two separate occasions. Now the earlobes are scarred and ugly; can otoplasty repair this scar tissue?

Answer:
If hoop earrings tore through your earlobes and left you with scarring or double lobules, you will not require an otoplasty to repair this. A simple procedure performed in the office under local anesthesia is all that will be necessary to repair this area.
