I had cheek augmentation surgery (implants) 3 weeks ago. I am still very swollen and my face feels really uncomfortable. Do you think I should be further along in my recovery by now?
Answer:
I am not entirely surprised that your face is still swollen three weeks following cheek implants. Swelling can be quite profound after placement of cheek implants because of the amount of dissection necessary on your face to properly place the cheek implants and maintain their position. If you should have fevers, redness, or distortion of your face then I would discuss these findings with your surgeon to make sure everything is healing appropriately.
