Question:
I would like upper and lower lid blepharoplasty. I have very sparse eyelashes. Will the incisions affect my eyelashes? How long after the surgery can I wear eye makeup, especially mascara?
Answer:
The incisions that I use for either upper or lower lid blepharoplasty should not affect your eyelashes. The upper lid incision for blepharoplasty is approximately 1cm from the lash line, and if I need to make incisions into the lower eyelid skin, the incision would be a couple of millimeters from the lash line. You may wear mascara on your eyelids about 1 week following the procedure.
