I’m 6 months post op from a lower blepharoplasty

Posted by Dr. Schoenfeld

Question:
I’m 6 months post op from a lower blepharoplasty, and I’m thrilled with the results! So thrilled, in fact, that I’m thinking about getting some more work done, namely a forehead lift. I’m mostly concerned with the furrowing and lines on my lower forehead. Are there upper and lower forehead lifts, similar to blepharoplasties?

Answer:
Your question with regards to browlifts is a good one and one that I have not heard before. There really is no browlift procedure that separates the browlift into upper and lower halves. Different techniques need to be employed to thoroughly address the upper and lower brow during the browlift. The muscles of the lower brow are usually weakened to prevent the “11” lines in your lower forehead from being so prominent. The entire brow is elevated during the browlift procedure and the skin, muscle, and other tissue of the forehead is really one unit.
