There are few problems associated with laser hair removal.

Question:
It looks like there are few problems associated with laser hair removal, one of them being discoloration of the skin. I am a very dark African American woman with facial hair that I would like removed.  Can you tell me if the procedure can be done without discoloring my face?

Answer:
Unfortunately, extremely dark pigmented skin and coarse hair of the face are two factors which are very difficult to address with lasers for hair removal.  I would suggest a long pulse Nd:Yag laser for this scenario and would only see someone with extensive experience in laser hair removal in treating darker pigmented skin.
