Question:
What is a TCA peel?

Answer:
TCA is trichloric acetic acid.  TCA is used as a chemical peeling agent.  TCA comes in several different concentrations.  The higher the TCA concentration, the stronger the peel.  Lower concentration TCA peels around 8% can be used by aestheticians safely under the guidance of a physician.  The peels are comfortable and well tolerated.  Medium depth chemical peels with the use of 35% TCA often times in combination with Jessner’s solution are performed by a physician with knowledge of the use of TCA peels.
