How Is an Osteotomy performed?

Question:

My surgeon recommended that an osteotomy be performed to fix my wide nasal bridge. How is this done?

Answer:

A wide nasal bridge would likely require osteotomies in order to narrow the nasal bridge. Osteotomies are the last step that I generally do in rhinoplasty. The way that osteotomies are performed vary from surgeon to surgeon. I prefer intranasal osteotomies with very small chisels in the rhinoplasty surgeries that I perform.
