How much time will I need to take off work for a physician

Question:
How much time will I need to take off work for a physician strength chemical peel? I don’t want to go back to work until my face looks 100% normal. Does the peeling/healing process hurt?

Answer:
The time that you will need to recover from a chemical peel will depend in large part on the strength of the chemical peel and subsequently the depth of damage to the skin the peel is likely to cause. A physician strength peel would indicate either a medium or deep depth chemical peel. These peels will take at least a week for the redness and perhaps crusting, in the case of deep chemical peel, to resolve. Cover up can be placed on the skin of your face after a week so returning to work should not be a particular problem. Strict sun avoidance with the use of sun screens and hats are strongly encouraged.
