I have finally decided that I would like a facelift

Posted by Dr. Schoenfeld

Question:

After almost a year of investigating different cosmetic procedures, I have finally decided that I would like a facelift. I am planning it during my two week vacation from work. I am also not going to tell anyone except my best friend that I am getting it done. Will the bruising be completely gone by two weeks? Should I take another week’s vacation so that no one can tell that I have had a face lift?

Answer:

Although a two week vacation will give you a decent amount of time for recovery from a facelift and most of the bruising should be resolved, you will still have some swelling and bruising in areas of your face for a week or so more. The length of time for recovery from a facelift will depend in large part on the type of facelift that you have and whether or not you bruise easily. More invasive facelift surgery which would include rejuvenation of the neck could take a bit longer than a mini facelift recovery. Your incisions, though well camouflaged, will also be a bit red for a few weeks following your facelift.
