When all goes well with eyelid surgery, the recovery period is relatively easy. There will definitely be swelling and some bruising following eyelid surgery but, the pain and discomfort is relatively mild. You will be given strict instructions to follow to minimize the pain, swelling, and bruising, but the skin around the eyes is quite thin and discoloration of the skin will last over a week.
