How noticeable is a face lift? I mean, do people just think you look better or is it obvious when a face lift has been done?
Answer:
There are several factors that will effect the post operative appearance of a face lift. If the patient comes to see me with a significant amount of facial aging and undergoes a face lift, they will look more refreshed and youthful and people will notice that they have had something done. Having said that, their appearance following my face lift will be natural and not altered. I strive for rejuvenation in my face lift procedures and work very hard to avoid the post operative face lift appearance that is so maligned, and rightly so. Abnormal pulling of the skin and changes in the appearance of the mouth are particularly noticeable and give that face lift appearance you are eluding to. When performed properly and in the right patient, there are no other surgical procedures that can provide the significant degree of improvement to the face that you can expect from a face lift.
