I am 24-years-old and I am hoping to have a rhinoplasty to fix my crooked nose. How is a crooked nose fixed?
Answer:
A crooked nose may be fixed in a variety of ways and the nose will really dictate which procedures will be necessary as there is no “cookie cutter” formula for repair of a crooked nose. Crooked noses may be the result of either cartilagenous or bony malformations. Crooked noses can be acquired as the result of trauma, or can be congenital. A skilled rhinoplasty surgeon will have a variety of surgical approaches to draw from in order to correct the imperfections of your nose during rhinoplasty. I use cartilage from the nasal septum and a variety of cartilage suturing techniques to straighten the crooked cartilagenous portion of the nose and perform controlled nasal fractures on the crooked bony portions of the nose.
