Question:
As the years have passed too quickly, my face has begun to form fine lines and I am starting to look like a grandmother. Is it better to have a chemical peel or Botox injections to remove the wrinkles creeping onto my face?
Answer:
As the years pass we all start to look like our grandparents. Your concerns are common ones. The changes you will likely see to your face will be too much skin, changes to the quality of your skin, and deflation of your face from loss of fat. Since your concerns deal with fine lines I would suggest procedures that will address the quality of your skin such as chemical peels, lasers, and microdermabrasion. Issues with sagging skin are better addressed with surgical excision of excess skin or possibly the use of dermal fillers or autologous fat to deal with the deflation of your face. Botox is an excellent choice to help with some facial lines, but, it will not be enough to adequately address the areas of your face you are concerned with.
