How long do the results of a chemical peel typically last?

Question:
How long do the results of a chemical peel typically last?  Will I need to do multiple procedures?

Answer:
The length of time the results of a chemical peel will last will depend largely on the strength of the chemical peel used to rejuvenate your skin.  A mild chemical peel typically used in conjunction with microdermabrasion should be repeated every 6 – 8 weeks.  A stronger, and thus, deeper chemical peel may only need to be performed once for several years of skin improvement.  The recovery period is quite a bit longer for deeper chemical peels compared to the immediate recovery from more mild peels but, the results can be quite dramatic in severely damaged skin.
