I am very fair skinned and tend to bruise easily. I’d like to get an estimate on the length of time that the bruising lasts for after blepharoplasty surgery. Are there any supplements that can be taken to help the bruising heal?
Answer:
Fair skin individuals tend to bruise easily. Bruising following eyelid surgery is also quite common. I would expect the bruising from upper lid eyelid surgery to last about a week but the bruising after lower eyelid surgery can last up to two weeks. You will be able to apply makeup to the eyes to conceal the bruising about a week after blepharoplasty. In terms of supplements, our office will provide you will arnica formulations to help decrease the amount of bruising from your blepharoplasty. These arnica products have proven extremely beneficial for all of our facial surgical patients.
