Question:
I got Restylane injected into my lips a month ago. At first, it was great. My lips were gorgeous, shapely, and plumped. Now though, it seems like the effect has already worn off! I’m a 19 year old woman, and I can’t be shelling out hundreds of dollars every few weeks! Isn’t Restylane supposed to keep lips plumped for a least a few months?
Answer:
Restylane is an excellent product and can be used very successfully in lip augmentation. The result you can expect from the use of Restylane is usually obtained at the time of injection. The next few days you will have some swelling from the lip augmentation. As the swelling subsides you may feel that the Restylane is no longer present, but, that is not likely the case. Restylane and Juvederm, the most commonly used fillers in lip augmentation generally remain for about 6-7 months in the lips. At 19 years of age you can expect to spend a great deal for lip augmentation with dermal fillers and may want to consider a more permanent implant such as Surgicil.
