Question:
I have a jagged scar that runs down my cheek, and I would like to repair it. My nights of bar fighting are over and I think my face needs to look a bit more presentable. How do you repair the scar? How long is it before the final results are apparent?
Answer:
Jagged scars along your cheeks can be a challenging problem. I am glad that your days of bar fights are over as nobody really wins those fights. You will likely need more than one procedure to repair your facial scar. You may need multiple Z-plasties if the scar is not oriented in the proper direction along your face. You may need geometric broken line revision, and you will likely need a laser skin resurfacing procedure several months after the scar revision in order to make sure the scars diminish in their appearance. Many factors will affect the procedures I choose to use for your particular scar revision and I would need to see you to decide which will work best for you.
