Question:
I have read a little about Radiesse online. I have a jawline that looks old. It is no longer smooth and perhaps the lumps I see are jowls. I would like Radiesse injections to smooth out the jawline and augment my chin. Are these injections painless? How many injections would I need to treat the two areas?
Answer:
Radiesse injections can be used quite successfully to augment your chin and to smooth out your jaw line. I frequently perform these injections for exactly the reasons you are looking to improve. I like Radiesse in the chin and along bone because it has a slightly firmer consistancy than other dermal fillers and will last for over a year when injected into these areas. The injections are relatively pain free. I add lidocaine to my Radiesse injections so that the first injection will sting a bit, but, subsequent Radiesse injections will hurt less. The amount of Radiesse required for chin and jaw augmentation will depend upont the desired result that you would like to obtain. My suspicion is that you will need between 2 and 4 cc’s of Radiesse to perform the job.
