Question:
I’d like to get a cheek implant but don’t want to risk looking like Alvin and the Chipmunks. How can you ensure me that the implants won’t be too large?
Answer:
I think that everyone who has considered cheek implants worries that their face will look like Alvin and the chipmunks if the implants are too large. I use two methods to determine which implant size is most appropriate for cheek augmentation. I use computer imaging during your preoperative consultation to help you determine which size implant will work best for your particular facial features. During surgery I use sizers which are actual implants that come in various sizes. Once I feel that the correct size has been placed I will choose that implant to actually go in the face permanently.
