Question:
I’ve had problems with ear infections my whole life. I’d like to get an ear pinning surgery but was wondering if it would affect my ear troubles.
Answer:
Your question is an interesting one. Generally speaking, ear infections will occur either in the middle ear or in the ear canal itself. Having your ears pinned, otoplasty surgery, poses no risk that I know of if you have a history of ear infections as the operative site of the ear is on the outside ear structures and no where near the areas where you have been infected.
