Question:
I’m 22, female, and I just got a lip augmentation with Restylane yesterday. My lips have swelled up and are very tender to the touch. I was expecting some kind of discomfort, but I’d like to do something to alleviate the pain. Will it be detrimental to my results if I ice my lips to help relieve my painful lip swelling?
Answer:
You can expect some swelling following the injection of Restylane or Juvederm into your lips for lip augmentation. I suggest using ice to your lips for the first 24-48 hrs to help decrease the swelling. Make sure you ice for about 15 minutes and then give your lips a rest for about 15 minutes and then repeat the process. Frozen peas in a baggie can also be used.
