Question:
I’m in my early 50s and looking to improve my mid and lower face. I’ve got some depressions along my chin, and my cheeks have thinned. A facelift seems extreme; are there any fillers that would work for me?
Answer:
The early fifties is a time when many people begin to critically analyze their faces. The changes that you have noticed are particularly common as we age. Loss of facial fat and increased laxity of the skin will lead to the changes that you are now appreciating in your cheeks and jaw line. Facial fat injections or the use of dermal injectable fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane or Perlane are also a great way to help reverse the signs of aging that you notice. However, if you do have a considerable amount of lax skin, a mini facelift in combination with facial fat injections or injectable dermal fillers may give you results that are far superior to facial injections alone without a considerable increase in recovery time and while leaving you with a natural appearance.
