Question:
Where are the incisions made for chin implants/augmentations? Is there obvious scarring after the surgery?
Answer:
Chin implants are place in one of two ways. I prefer to use an small incision placed inconspicuously beneath the chin for what is considered the external approach to chin implant placement. I feel that there is less chance for chin implant contamination. I am very confident about the location of the chin implant when placed, and the incision heals so well that this approach works best for me and my patients.
