Question:
Which injectable filler would you recommend for crow’s feet? Do patients often get several areas of the face treated at the same time?
Answer:
Crow’s feet is a difficult area to manage with the use of dermal fillers. Although dermal fillers such as Restylane or Juvederm can be used in the treatment of crow’s feet, Botox and Dysport are significantly more effective in diminishing the appearance of crow’s feet. Filling the lines is not the best way to diminish the appearance of crow’s feet, rather, preventing the muscle around the eye from contracting prevents the formation and progression of crow’s feet. This is best achieved with Botox and Dysport. Chemical peels around the eyes will also smooth the wrinkles and rejuvenate the skin.
