Sclerotherapy is a procedure designed to improve the appearance of spider veins and, for some patients, varicose veins. During the procedure, a sclerosing solution is injected into the veins, causing them to collapse and fade from view. Multiple treatments may be required. Sclerotherapy can also help to relieve common symptoms associated with spider veins such as swelling, aching, burning and night cramps.
Potential candidates for sclerotherapy include individuals who are in good health, have realistic expectations, and are looking to improve the appearance of spider veins.
Sclerotherapy usually requires just fifteen to forty-five minutes to complete, though two or more sessions may be required. The treatment area is first cleansed with an antiseptic solution and then the sclerosing agent will be injected into the vein with a thin needle. Multiple injections are required, ranging anywhere from five to as many as forty depending upon the size and number of veins being treated.
After sclerotherapy, cotton balls and tape are usually applied to the treatment area and remain in place for about two days. Tight-fitting support hose may be worn for about three days.
An excellent treatment to reduce unsightly spider veins on the legs. $300 per session.

Dr. Schoen feld literally changed my life.I had consulted with plastic surgeons before, but Dr. Schoenfeld made me feel comfortable right away. Not only did he listen to me and understand that one size doesn’t fit all. He BELIEVED in me - he knew, and made me believe, that I would still be me just better!
I suffered no pain with the recovery. Sure, it was uncomfortable for a few days, but it was never painful. And within two weeks of the surgery I knew that my life would never be the same. I think the biggest change is one that other people can't see. Do I look better? YES! But also feel better! I now have new energy and a new, more positive attitude and it is apparent to everyone who knows me and everyone I meet.
For the first time in my life I introduce myself to people, smile and talk, without hose old anxieties of what THEY were noticing about me.The surgery has removed a barrier that didn't allow me to be myself. I meet someone new almost every time I go out now, as opposed to hanging with the same old crowd all night long. And I'am dating!
Thanks again for everything Doc! You're the best. I look forward to seeing you on the 15th.
